The design of Villa 0702 came from the desire to modernize traditional Saudi architecture whilst relatively maintaining it’s traditional integrity. This was done through keeping Saudi design elements such as the arcade, stone cladding, and consideration for privacy. However, the introduction of wood, flat cladding, and sharp refined edges participate in the modernization of the house. The round glass room truly distinguishes the house from those around it, and establishes it as modern architecture from first glance.
